Tamko Heritage Warranty Issues

Tamko Heritage Shingle Warranty Issues

Between 2015 and 2021, many home builders selected TAMKO shingles due to their price point and availability. However, a significant number of homeowners across Florida have since experienced premature roof failure tied to known manufacturing defects.

TAMKO has acknowledged certain issues affecting specific production runs, including:

  • Blistering

  • Delamination

  • Curling

  • Excessive granule loss

These defects materially impact the integrity of the shingle system. When asphalt shingles begin to blister or lose granules prematurely, UV protection is compromised. Delamination weakens the mat structure. Curling disrupts proper water shedding. Collectively, these issues can shorten the roof’s service life and increase the risk of leaks long before the roof should reasonably fail.

Important: This Is Not an Insurance Claim

Manufacturer defects are handled through warranty channels… not through your homeowner’s insurance policy. Filing an insurance claim for a manufacturing defect is inappropriate and can create unnecessary complications.

If you suspect your TAMKO shingles may be failing prematurely, the proper course of action is a professional roof evaluation focused specifically on identifying warrantable conditions.

How We Help

As a Licensed Florida Roofing Contractor, we provide a free, no-obligation roof assessment. Our inspection process is structured and documentation-driven. If we identify potential warrantable defects, we will:

  • Photograph and document all visible issues

  • Provide a written inspection summary

  • Help organize the information required for a warranty submission

  • Assist with communication and next steps

In some cases, manufacturers request physical shingle samples for laboratory analysis. If that becomes necessary, we handle the extraction and submission properly to ensure compliance with their requirements.

We can’t make guarantees about warranty outcomes…that determination is made by the manufacturer…but we walk the process alongside you so it is handled correctly from the start.
