Hail Storm - March 15th, 2026
On March 15th 2026 a severe and well documented thunderstorm with damaging winds and hail between 1”- 1.75" affected areas throughout Brevard County, Including... Mico Rd, Grant Rd, Valkaria Rd, Bayside Lakes, Babcock St, Osage Rd, Twin Lakes, Weber Woods, Malabar Scrub Sanctuary, SR 514, Port Malabar, SR 516, US 1, Florida Ave, Dairy Rd, US 192, Hibiscus Blvd and surrounding areas
Hail of this size can cause significant damage to roofs, screen enclosures, gutters and other components. Roofs 10 years old or older are more susceptible to hail this size.
Their was also a high wind event associated with this storm. This cell included Meteorologist confirmed 60+ mph winds, which can in some instances also cause damage to tile roof systems.
Homeowners with roofing systems around this age range should have their roof inspected.
Florida law limits homewowners in the time they have to file a claim. The reporting deadline for this Longwood hail storm is 3/15/2027.
Generally, documenting any applicable damage as close to the storm date is advisable as this would be considered an “all perils” event and hurricane/named storm deductibles do not apply.
