areas.
Hail of this size does not generally cause significant, widespread roof damage, however roofs 10 years or older are more susceptible to hail this size and some (but not all) of the
roofs that we have inspected inside of this swath, have been negatively affected.
Their was also a limited area, high wind event associated with this storm. This cell included brief duration Meteorologist confirmed 58 mph winds, which can in some instances cause damage to tile roof systems.
Homeowners with roofing systems around this age range should have their roof inspected.
Florida law limits homewowners in the time they have to file a claim. The reporting deadline for this Longwood hail storm is 2/28/2027.
Generally, documenting any applicable damage as close to the storm date is advisable as this would be considered an “all perils” event and hurricane/named storm deductibles do not apply.
