Longwood Hail Storm - May 8th, 2025

On May 8th 2025 a severe thunderstorm with damaging winds and hail between .75 and 1” affected areas in Apopka, Longwood, Wekiva Springs, Sweetwater, Markham Woods Rd, and along E.E. Williamson.


Hail of this size does not generally cause significant, widespread roof damage, however roofs that are approaching 15 years or older are more susceptible to hail this size and many (but not all) of the roofs that we have inspected inside of this swath, have been negatively affected.


Homeowners with roofing systems in this age range should have their roof inspected.


Florida law limits homewowners in the time they have to file a claim. The reporting deadline for this Longwood hail storm is 5/8/2026.
